Summit Media Wins at the 2022 INMA Global Media Awards

The innovative Cosmo.ph x Pond’s PinkLab campaign was lauded for its creativity

Summit Media, a member of the Gokongwei Group alongside JG Summit Holdings and Robinsons Retail, was one of the 60 first-place winners at the 2022 INMA Global Media Awards.

At the online awards presentation held on June 9, 2022, Summit Media’s "Cosmo.ph x Pond's PinkLab: Creating Fun and Beautiful Transformations" campaign was declared the winner in the Most Creative Use of Advertising Formats (National Brands) category.

"At the height of the pandemic, creating innovative solutions became a vital strategy of Summit Media based on the market research and pulse of Ashish Thomas, our chief executive adviser. The need to be always on in developing new solutions for our key advertising partners became very clear, as we get to be involved as a preferred resource partner during the planning stage,” said Florence Bienvenido, Head of Revenue Growth of Summit Media. She added, “Securing this global win not only recognizes the fruits of our hard work, but also embodies Summit Media's culture of collaboration geared towards building a stronger foundation with key partners that we work with. The whole team's dedication to perfecting our craft reflects the exemplary DNA that Summiteers uphold in representing Summit Media as one of the leading and trusted digital solutions networks on both the local and global scale.”

The collab between Cosmopolitan Philippines (cosmo.ph) and Pond’s resulted in a fun and highly innovative online event to launch the renowned skincare brand’s new products during the pandemic. With face-to-face events not possible during the lockdown, Pond’s PinkLab was the first-ever beauty metaverse event held in the country, and drew in 10,000 attendees during its 5-day run.

Organized by the International News Media Association with the support of Google News Initiative, the INMA Global Media Awards recognize “innovation and best practices on news brands, optimizing the use of media platforms, subscriptions, advertising, data and insights, product, and newsroom.” This year’s competition garnered a record 854 entries from 252 brands representing newspapers, magazines, digital media, television, and radio in 46 countries.

Apart from its first-place win at the 2022 Global Media Awards, the groundbreaking PinkLab campaign has also been recognized at other major competitions such as the WARC Awards for Media 2021, where it was shortlisted in the Effective Channel Integration category, and the MSAP Awards (presented by the Media Specialists Association of the Philippines), where it won the Gold Award in the Activation Category as well as the Best in Creative Media special award.
