Robinsons Bank, one of the fastest-growing commercial banks in the country, continues to gain global recognition for its innovative products and services.

RBank’s string of honors thus far in 2020 includes receiving three awards, including the “Best Commercial Bank—Philippines 2020” distinction, from the Dubai-based International Business Magazine, in addition to being named as the “Fastest Growing Commercial Bank—Philippines 2020”  by the UK-based financial publication, Global Business Outlook.

In 2019, RBank’s revenue grew by 28% over the previous year, registering a total of Php8.1 billion driven by a 17% expansion in its gross loan portfolio. RBank’s total net income in 2019 rose to Php719.4 million, marking a 127% increase.

Continuing that strong performance in 2019, RBank’s profit during the first half of 2020 grew to Php628.32 million, almost four times the Php158.36 million it earned over the same period last year. This is strongly driven by gains in trading and securities, which offset the higher provision for credit losses.

In presenting their respective awards, both International Business Magazine and Global Business Outlook seek to recognize companies that display innovation and creativity, and the drive to create value for their clients.

More recently, another UK-based financial services publication, the Global Economics Limited, chose Robinsons Bank’s GO!Salary Loan Online and the Mobile Credit Investigation Application (MoCA) for GO!Motorsiklo Loans as the Most Innovative Digital Transformation Initiative in the Philippines at its Global Economics Awards. Rbank’s MoCA was also named the “Best Automated Loan Process--Philippines 2020” by International Business Magazine.

RBank is one of the few banks in the Philippines that offers loans specifically for motorcycles. Through the GO!Motorsiklo Loan, RBank aims to bridge the financing gap for Filipinos in the lower-income bracket. Partnering with accredited motorcycle dealers, the bank provides affordable financing options to this underserved market.

The third award presented to RBank by International Business Magazine was for one of its latest products, RBank Sign Up. It was chosen as “Most Innovative Retail Bank Product” in the Philippines for 2020.

Launched in April, RBank Sign Up is an online application platform that makes opening an account a fully digital process. It allows anyone to open a Simplé Savings Deposit Account (RBank’s Basic Deposit Account), a Regular ATM Savings Account, and a Payroll Account through a simple yet secure process.

In these changing times, digital transformation and innovation are proving more relevant than ever. RBank continues to focus on these strategies to ensure that it meets the customers’ needs and is able to provide them with an easy and convenient banking experience. The bank continues the path toward digitization with the goal of creating products and services that will enhance the customer experience, making banking easier and more convenient for its clients.

Robinsons Bank is the financial services arm of JG Summit Holdings, Inc., one of the largest conglomerates in the Philippines. RBank currently ranks 18th among universal and commercial banks in the country, with assets amounting to Php125.904 Bn as of March 2020.
