The Philippines’ leading carrier, Cebu Pacific, remains committed to serving everyJuan during this time of crisis as it continues to operate all-cargo flights in support of ongoing efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
Although CEB suspended its passenger flights in line with the Enhanced Community Quarantine issued by the government, its cargo services have not ceased operations as the airline recognizes the need for continuous transport of essential goods, especially at this time. The cargo includes medicines, a number of COVID-19 test kits, and much-needed medical and personal protective equipment (PPE) for health workers and medical frontliners that CEB airlifts at no cost to the shipper or receiving organizations. This is part of the airline's social responsibility program of utilizing its routes and flights to deliver humanitarian assistance.
To date, CEB has already carried over 20 tons of humanitarian cargo between key domestic destinations including Cebu, Bacolod, Puerto Princesa, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, and General Santos. Donations were sent through various government and non-government organizations such as the Office of Vice President Leni Robredo/Angat Buhay Foundation; the Department of Health, the Bureau of Customs/Task Force Koronadal; the Armed Forces of the Philippines; the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation; The Outstanding Women in the Nation’s Service (TOWNS) Foundation; and the local government of Butuan.
Over 30 all-cargo flights between Manila, Cebu, Davao General Santos, Cagayan de Oro, Bacolod, and Puerto Princesa have also been scheduled to ensure on-time movement of important commodities and day-to-day needs. CEB also continues its limited cargo operations between Manila and some international destinations, such as Tokyo (Japan) and Guangzhou (China).
