Cebu Pacific & AHA! Learning Center Bring Back “Fun for Little Juans”

100 public school kids were treated to a well-deserved day at Star City

On July 29, 2022, Cebu Pacific held its most recent “Fun for Little Juans” corporate social responsibility outreach activity, this time in partnership with the AHA! Learning Center. This was CEB's first face-to-face community engagement after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.

Founded in 2009 as a free after-school program to support low-performing but high-potential public school students, AHA! Learning Center now directly supports more than 300 students in the National Capital Region.

Cebu Pacific employees help out at the outreach program's registration counter.

With the support of the country’s leading carrier, AHA! was able to bring 100 children and 50 guardians from a sponsored community in Tondo, Manila, for a day of fun and learning at Star City, a popular amusement park in Pasay City. CEB employees generously volunteered to help organize the activity and to play with the program beneficiaries.

The CEB volunteers also acted as guardians to some of the school children.

“This is the most fun activity we’ve had since the pandemic. Nothing beats the joy of seeing children happily playing and taking the carnival rides after being cooped up inside their homes during the pandemic. We, at Cebu Pacific, enjoy sharing our time and resources with deserving Filipino communities,” said Carmina Romero, Director for Corporate Communications at Cebu Pacific.

At the event, the children also received loot bags containing snacks, vitamins, and care kits from sponsors including Universal Robina Corporation, TGP, and Pascual Laboratories.

“Having a day like this means so much more to our students after the year they've had,” said Jaton Zulueta, president and founder of AHA! Learning Center. “Today is a day that they will definitely never forget.”
