Cebu Pacific Marks 25 Years of Making Moments Happen

CEB celebrates with everyJuan through seat sales & the permanent removal of change fees

This March, Cebu Pacific, the Philippines’ leading carrier, celebrates 25 years of making moments happen. To mark the historic occasion, Cebu Pacific is hosting two special seat sales and offering big discounts on travel add-ons. Apart from these celebratory gestures, the airline bids to inspire more Filipinos to travel once again as it permanently removes change fees, allowing passengers to rebook their tickets as many times as necessary. It’s a welcome development for all passengers, especially at a time when travel arrangements can change at moment’s notice.

Placing emphasis on its 25th year in the skies, Cebu Pacific launched its first-ever month-long PHP 25 seat sale, which is ongoing until the end of March. CEB flights to any Philippine destination are now on sale, with the travel period applicable from the date of purchase all the way to December 31, 2021.

CEB operates the widest domestic network in the Philippines, offering safe, affordable, and seamless flights to and from key cities in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. It also supports the local tourism industry with its regular flights to famous leisure spots such as Boracay, Bohol, Coron, Siargao, and Puerto Princesa.

Sticking to the 25th anniversary theme, CEB is also offering a 25% discount on flight add-ons such as CEB Prepaid Baggage. On top of that, the airline’s signature piso sale is ongoing until March 5, 2021. For as low as PHP 1 base fare, passengers can travel to their favorite local and international destinations from June 1 to December 31, 2021, thanks to the special #CEBSuperSeatFest.

CEB pioneered the piso sale concept in 2004 to democratize travel, offering low-cost fares and great service to its passengers.

Flying High at 25

CEB took to the skies for the first time on March 8, 1996, with a flight from Manila to its hometown of Cebu. Since then, it has committed to fly wherever Filipinos are in the world; significant milestones in this journey include making its first international flight to Hong Kong in 2001 and embarking on its first low-cost long-haul flight to Dubai in 2013.

The airline also received its first ATR 72-500 in 2008, which paved the way for it to boost inter-island connectivity and expand its domestic network. Because of its wide footprint and promo fares, CEB has consistently made flying accessible for everyJuan.

CEB has also taken part in numerous passenger moments — such as when a passenger from Dubai gave birth en route to Manila in 2016 or when it feted its 150 millionth passenger with a pleasant surprise upon his arrival in Cagayan de Oro in October 2017.

The airline’s passengers have also contributed to making moments happen for other people, as they have enriched the lives of children in marginalized communities all over the Philippines through the UNICEF Change for Good program. Donations collected through this simple yet effective fund-raising activity reached the US$1 million mark in 2019.

“Throughout our 25 years, we have celebrated countless wonderful moments with our guests. We look forward to #MoreSmilesAhead, as everyJuan flies again,” said Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific Vice President for Marketing and Customer Experience.

Paying it Forward

To help the travel and tourism industry get back on its feet after the challenges brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, the airline recently announced that it was permanently removing its change fees.

“In a recent survey we conducted, flexibility remains to be one of the considerations of our passengers when deciding to travel again. Because of this, we are removing our change fee effective immediately. As we work on rebuilding our network and supporting domestic tourism, we will continue to listen to our passengers so we can make it even more convenient for everyJuan to fly again,” explained Iyog.

With the removal of change fees, passengers can now rebook their flights as many times as they need at no cost, though a minimal fare difference may still apply.

Passengers can manage their bookings online through the “Manage Booking” portion of the Cebu Pacific website. Simply log in using your Getgo account, if applicable, or enter your booking reference to access your booking online. Bookings can be modified up to two hours before the flight.

Passengers may also easily update their contact information and addresses, as well as correct misspelled names, nationality, birthdays, and salutation through the same portal. Those who booked their CEB flights via travel agencies must coordinate requests through their respective agents.

“On our 25th year, we remain humbled to be part of our passengers’ stories and life journeys. We are in full support of the simplification of travel requirements, and expect to welcome more guests onto our flights in the coming months,” added Iyog.

Cebu Pacific currently flies to 32 domestic destinations from its Manila and Cebu hubs, on top of six international destinations from Manila, namely Dubai, Hong Kong, Nagoya, Narita, Seoul, and Singapore.
