Cebu Pacific Partners with Bridgestone for “Smarter” Air Travel Safety

PH’s leading carrier launched a new tire management system with global manufacturing giant

Cebu Pacific Air has tied up with Bridgestone Corporation to launch their new “easytrack” tire management system in Q2 2025. Results from an earlier three-month trial of the system showed a 50% reduction in workload and a near-zero human error rate, prompting the carrier to implement “easytrack” across its entire supply chain. The smart system innovation streamlines aircraft tire tracking, which in turn ensures that every aircraft in Cebu Pacific’s fleet travels with tires that meet the highest of aviation safety standards.

The ”easytrack” system utilizes QR codes and a specialized smartphone app to keep all inventory records as accurate as possible throughout Cebu Pacific’s aircraft tire supply chain, including external third-party warehouses; affiliated Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul teams; and airline operations teams. By knowing the exact condition, number, and location of each individual tire throughout its life cycle – from production to return – Cebu Pacific and Bridgestone are able to eliminate inefficiencies in the maintenance and installation of the carrier’s tires.

“As Cebu Pacific continues to expand its operations, it’s essential that we invest in smart solutions that enhance efficiency and reduce manual workload. Partnering with Bridgestone to implement the ‘easytrack’ system has enabled us to significantly improve our tire management processes, ensuring greater accuracy, safety, and productivity across our operations,” Cebu Pacific Vice President, Engineering & Fleet Management Shevantha Weerasekera said.

“As a value co-creation partner, we have proposed solutions tailored to on-site operations based on learnings and insights gained from Cebu Pacific’s frontline operations. We are very pleased that the official implementation of ‘easytrack’ has contributed to the improvement of operational accuracy, safety, and productivity. Through further expansion and evolution of this solution, we will amplify the value of our ‘Dan-Totsu Products’, trust with our customers, and value of the data for creating new value,” added Bridgestone Corporation Director, Global Aviation Tire Solutions Business Division Arata Tomita.

This partnership between Cebu Pacific and Bridgestone is yet another step towards Cebu Pacific’s goals of not only being the most accessible way to fly for every Filipino, but also the safest and most dependable. As the carrier continues to grow its fleet and routes to match increasing demand, systems such as “easytrack” allow it to improve its overall efficiency without compromising on quality of service every passenger deserves.

Cebu Pacific has pioneered “low fare, great value” flights since its establishment in March 1996, and has since flown over 250 million passengers both domestic and abroad. The Philippines’ leading carrier currently offers the widest network coverage in the country with 37 domestic and 26 international destinations. Its 99-aircraft fleet is one of the youngest in the world.
