No Stopping Us Now: Cebu Pacific Boosts Its Northern & Central Luzon Operations

CEB launches Manila–Laoag flights & reactivates its Clark hub

Cebu Pacific, the Philippines’ leading airline, continues to expand its network in northern and central Luzon with the launch of flights between Manila and Laoag later this month and with the reactivation of its Clark hub in April.

Starting May 22, 2023, CEB will fly daily between Manila and Laoag, making it the 35th local destination in the airline’s domestic network, regarded as the widest in the country. With this latest development, more travelers can now explore the stunning landscapes and rich cultural heritage of the Ilocos region, which includes the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan.

“Laoag plays a crucial role in preserving the country’s rich history and culture, and we are excited to finally be able to bring more Juans to this beautiful city. We hope that the launch of the Laoag route will encourage more people to travel and experience the Ilocos region,” said Xander Lao, Cebu Pacific President and Chief Commercial Officer.

Laoag, which is just a one-hour flight from Manila, is the capital of Ilocos Norte and serves as a jump-off point to many of the province’s popular tourist destinations. The city is the perfect destination for nature lovers, history buffs, and thrill seekers.

From Laoag, travelers can also reach other attractions in the Ilocos Region such as the Paoay Church and the white sand beaches of Pagudpud.

Meanwhile, the airline’s hub at the Clark International Airport in Pampanga resumed full operations on April 21, and is expected to serve an average of 10,000 seats each month with its flights to and from 15 domestic and international destinations.

“The launch of our Clark flights today is a fulfillment of Cebu Pacific’s mission to help make air travel more accessible and affordable for travelers in north and central Luzon. This expansion will give the traveling public more opportunities to explore the Philippines and the rest of the world,” said Lao during the launch event, which was attended by officers from Luzon International Premiere Airport Development, the operators of the new Clark International Airport, the Department of Tourism, other CEB executives, and media guests.

Kickstarting CEB’s Clark operations were the inaugural flights to Bacolod, Caticlan, Davao, and Bangkok. Between April and June, the airline will gradually ramp up flights to domestic destinations including Iloilo, General Santos, Cagayan de Oro, Puerto Princesa, and Cebu, while other international destinations that will be served by Clark are Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Taipei, Incheon, and Narita.

To support the expansion of its operations in Central Luzon, three out of the 10 new Airbus NEO aircraft that are scheduled for delivery this year will be based in Clark.

CEB currently flies to 34 domestic and 23 international destinations, spanning across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East. For more information, visit cebupacificair.com
