RLC Cares: Coming to the Aid of Homeowners & Employees After Typhoon Odette

Robinsons Land & its sister companies collaborate in the ongoing relief efforts

When Super Typhoon Odette struck across vast areas of the Visayas and Mindanao last December, it left thousands of victims with little to no access to everyday essentials such as water, food, and electricity.

Included among those affected were residents, stakeholders, and employees of RLC Residences' Cebu-based developments. To address their urgent concerns and needs, RLC's various property management offices in the area immediately commenced a series of relief initiatives.

Extending a Helping Hand

Located in the province of Cebu, which lay directly in the super typhoon's path, Azalea Place and AmiSa Private Residences both suffered damage, affecting their residents and employees. To help them recover, RLC's Cebu Property Management Office immediately worked alongside its Manila counterpart and sought assistance from sister companies in the Gokongwei Group to secure and ship needed supplies to the province.

Through the help of Universal Robina Corporation, relief packs containing food, drinking water, and rubbing alcohol were assembled and distributed to RLC residents and employees. For its part, Cebu Pacific assisted by transporting the needed supplies quickly and safely to Cebu.

The airline was also instrumental in helping the property management office secure diesel from Phoenix Petroleum Philippines. As electricity from the grid was cut due to the typhoon, the procured diesel supplies enabled RLC to power its properties' back-up generator sets.

Apart from these efforts, RLC's respective property management offices led debris-clearing operations and repaired structural damage. To continually ensure their residents' welfare, they also organized daily unit owners' meetings to learn about the most pressing needs and concerns.

Strong Support Network

As it cut through the country's southern regions, Typhoon Odette affected RLC homeowners and buyers in other provinces apart from Cebu. To help them recover and get back on their feet, RLC Residences recently announced that it will waive all penalties and interest charges incurred for late payments from December 16, 2021, to January 31, 2022. This initiative is offered to property buyers in typhoon-stricken areas, including Cebu, Bohol, Negros, Surigao, Siargao, Iloilo, Samar, Leyte, and Palawan.

In their homeowners' time of need, RLC Residences has shown that beyond building beautiful homes and properties, it has also created and nurtures a close-knit community that truly cares.
