RLC Residences Empowers Young Athletes Through IRONKIDS Partnership

Raising Little Champions empowers families to nurture thriving kids within a caring community

RLC Residences, the residential division of Robinsons Land Corporation, advances its commitment to Filipino families through a multi-year partnership with IRONKIDS Philippines, a program promoting youth development, wellness, and family connection through sport.

Launched earlier this year, the Raising Little Champions program focuses on the RLC Residences Junior Triathlon Team, a group of young athletes aged 6 to 14 who train for and compete in IRONKIDS races nationwide. As part of the global IRONMAN series, these events help instill discipline, endurance, and confidence in children through swimming, biking, and running.

Running from 2025 to 2027, the partnership enables more families to pursue meaningful athletic development together, supporting RLC Residences’ broader mission to empower Filipino families and build strong, connected communities.

Sports as a Platform for Growth

Since taking part in Raising Little Champions, families involved have observed meaningful changes in their children’s habits, mindset, and confidence.

Fatima Buensuceso, whose sons Amir, 9, and Cyrus, 6, are both in the program, initially introduced them to the multi-discipline sport to reduce their screen time. “Now, they understand the value of sports in their lives,” she said. “It’s about building an optimistic attitude that boosts their confidence and allows them to truly enjoy the experiences of being an athlete.”

Similarly, 7-year-old Haneul “Sky” Jung discovered confidence through her training journey. Her mother, Donna, recalled, “From not knowing any sport to learning how to swim, bike, and run is a great achievement that gave her confidence. RLC Residences gave Sky such a great opportunity to be a part of something that she can remember for the rest of her life.”

Eight-year-old Xavier Benedict “Xavi” Belleza began his journey with no formal swim training but quickly became determined to improve. Gretchen, his mother, shared, “Seeing him at the finish line, beaming with pride, was an unforgettable moment. After that, he was the one who asked for proper training.”

Planting the Seeds of Future Success

Today, many of these young athletes are setting ambitious goals. Amir is aiming to compete in IRONMAN events, while Cyrus is focused on improving his swimming and running. Sky is preparing for upcoming swim meets.

Brothers Lucas Alejandro, 14, and Logan Alec Abiogen, 10, transitioned into triathlon after excelling in swimming, and are now training with hopes of joining the national team. Meanwhile, 7-year-old Johan Benedict Santos, inspired by his sports-loving father, has embraced triathlon as a way to connect with family and gain confidence.

Christy Santos shared, “My husband, who also enjoys triathlons, has greatly inspired our son to participate. They motivate each other, train together, and celebrate their accomplishments, which strengthens our bond as a family.”

Xavi Belleza, now training with the elite Philippine team, continues to build his competitive edge while learning to manage expectations. “Our focus isn’t just on medals but on the learnings, experiences, and the journey itself,” said his mother.

A Platform for Opportunity

Through Raising Little Champions, RLC Residences extends support to families and their kids through access to quality training, organized competition, and a positive environment that encourages growth on and off the course.

“We couldn’t afford to support our kids’ triathlon journey on our own, but thanks to RLC Residences, they’ve been able to pursue their passion,” said Christle Abiogen. Donna Jung concurred, adding: “RLC Residences provides a great opportunity to participate in organized sports, which could help aspiring athletes have a bright future in sports.”

Beyond individual success, parents say the program has created stronger social connections. “Our kids went from casual playmates to triathlon teammates—pushing each other to be better while still having fun,” said Christy Santos. “As parents, we love how this shapes a stronger, healthier, and more connected community.”

Encouraging the Next Generation

As the program continues, parents encourage others to let their children explore sports at their own pace, reminding them that support and enjoyment are just as important as performance.

“Let them try different activities and find what they truly enjoy,” said Gretchen Belleza. “Support them unconditionally, celebrate their efforts, and teach them that winning isn’t everything—growth, learning, and passion matter more.”

Santos added, “It’s important to ensure that they genuinely enjoy the activity and feel motivated to participate. Supporting them through the ups and downs will help them build confidence and resilience, which are valuable both in sports and in life.”

With Raising Little Champions, RLC Residences builds on its broader mission to create environments where families thrive and children are equipped with the mindset and values to succeed—on and off the race course.
