Robinsons Malls Lights Up the Season with a New Holiday Video & More

Celebrity endorser Maja Salvador & G-Force star in Robinsons Malls’ Christmas video

Robinsons Malls is ringing in the Christmas season with the launch of its latest holiday video, featuring the actress and singer Maja Salvador and the G-Force dancers.

After a tumultuous 2020, the video aims to remind Filipinos that Christmas is still a season of joy and hope. And despite the added precautions that mallgoers have to go through, such as the required health and safety protocols upon entering the mall, everyone can still have a fun and pleasant experience, whether you’re there to shop, dine, or simply enjoy the company of family or friends.

The video begins with workers preparing the mall for customers early in the day, with the strains of the familiar carol “Deck the Halls” heard in the background. Maja enters the mall a few seconds later, going through the requisite temperature check and sanitizing of her hands, just like any mallgoer, before launching into a dance routine with the mall security guards. The tempo of the music then picks up, with the genre also changing from jazz to K-Pop and EDM. The G-Force dancers then join in on the action by taking part in fun activities around the mall, showing how it’s possible to have an upbeat and vibrant Christmas despite the ongoing pandemic.

To stay attuned with the times, the latest video from Robinsons Malls takes a different approach from the viral “Alice in Galleria Land” video starring Alice Dixson and the award-winning “Ang Pangarap Kong Robot,” which showed how the best gifts come from the heart. Due to the pandemic situation, Robinsons Malls management wanted a video that was “something fun and positive that would make people want to go back to our malls because it's safe, and Christmas for Filipinos is the most anticipated holiday of the year,” said Kaths Laudit-Chong, Marketing Director of Robinsons Land Corporation.

Helping bring the vision to reality was Michael Carandang, an Emmy award-winning television producer and director. Together with the RLC’s marketing team headed by Chong and the Digital Team of Veronica Guevara and Eriq Sanchez, the video was produced in record time, with conceptualization and shoot taking no more than a week, just in time for the holidays. Inspired by the film La La Land and the Mariah Carey hit “All I Want for Christmas,” the video achieves what the team set out to accomplish. “We were able to convey that our shoppers are safe and even our workers at the mall are thrilled to welcome them during the holiday season,” says Chong.

In the spirit of Christmas, a few Robinsons Malls frontliners shared their sentiments with jgsummit.com.ph.

“Nagpapasalamat ako na kahit may pandemya, patuloy pa rin ang aming mga trabaho. Ang tanging kaligayahan ngayong pasko, ay sana patuloy na maging malusog at laging maligaya ang aking pamilya. [I am thankful that even with a pandemic, we are still able to work. This Christmas, what will bring me joy is to see my family healthy and happy,” said Erwin Glorioso, a foodcourt leadman at Robinsons place Manila. His wishes for this season were similarly echoed by his fellow Robinsons Place Manila frontliners, including Derwin Bueno, Housekeeping Leadman; and Jenevie Baldovino, Housekeeping attendant.

Karla Nofies, leadwoman and information attendant at the same mall, said, “Thankful po ako na tuloy-tuloy pa din ang trabaho namin at pagsisilbi sa mga customers sa panahon ng pandemic. [I’m thankful that our work has been able to continue and that we’re able to go on serving our customers during the pandemic.” She added that her wish is to celebrate Christmas wholeheartedly with her child. For his part, security guard Lorenzo Ngayan said that he’s happy to have work after the difficulties of the past year, and wishes to be with his family this Christmas and be safe every day.

Through this video, Robinsons Malls aims to share with wide audience the joy of the Christmas season—the warmth, the energy, and the positivity. When spending the #HolidaysAtRobinsons Malls, feeling joyous is all about experiences that tell what we love the most about Christmas.
