The Philippine government strengthened its commitment to serving the everyday Filipino by bringing the first-ever Government-Owned or -Controlled Corporations (GOCC) Caravan to Robinsons Manila. The two-day event, held on July 29 and 30, 2025, made key government services more accessible to thousands of citizens by setting up a one-stop shop in the mall's Midtown Atrium. The GOCC Caravan is a project by the Department of Finance (DOF), in partnership with Robinsons Malls and in collaboration with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and participating GOCCs.
True to its theme, “Serbisyo sa Bayan, Hatid ng GOCCs, Kaakbay ang DOF,” the Caravan brought frontline government services directly to the Filipino people, allowing them to avail of said services closer to their homes and places of business. Among the GOCCs participating in the Caravan were the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Social Security System (SSS), Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), Pag-IBIG Fund, Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC), Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP), and Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP).
The GOCC Caravan drew large crowds at Robinsons Manila, offering mallgoers direct access to essential government services in a convenient and accessible setting.
Individuals could avail of a wide range of services such as claim inquiries, loan applications, and addressing membership concerns simply by visiting Robinsons Manila, Robinsons Land's flagship lifestyle destination conveniently located in the country's capital.
The Caravan also offered free financial literacy sessions to help Filipinos make better-informed decisions with their money. Also present at the event were investment opportunities and a showcase of flagship projects by the National Development Company (NDC) and Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA).
For those pursuing financial freedom via their own businesses, the Small Business Corporation (SBC) was onsite to offer loan application support and guidance.
Finance Secretary Ralph G. Recto formally opened the GOCC Caravan, sharing the stage with top executives from participating organizations and government units.
The GOCC Caravan is one of several undertakings by the DOF's Corporate Sector and Strategic Infrastructure Group (CSSIG) meant to aid in its mission of helping GOCCs remain efficient, fiscally sound, and of utmost value to the citizenry.
“We want citizens to feel that the government is not just in offices or faraway agencies, but present, proactive, and committed to serve,” DOF CSSIG Undersecretary Rolando G. Tungpalan said.
As a long-time partner of the government through its Lingkod Pinoy Centers, Robinsons Malls has long shared a working partnership with the Philippine government via its Lingkod Pinoy Centers, where mallgoers can process and pay for multiple government services. The GOCC Caravan reaffirms and reinforces its commitment to making government services more accessible, convenient and safe.
