Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc., the retail arm of the Gokongwei Group, was recently named by the financial publication Asiamoney as the Philippines’ most outstanding company in the Consumer Discretionary sector.
This was RRHI's first time to top Asiamoney's Asia’s Outstanding Companies Poll, which recognizes listed firms in 12 Asian markets that excel in financial performance, management team excellence, investor relations, and corporate social responsibility.
This year, 958 fund managers, buy-side analysts, bankers, and research analysts took part in an exhaustive survey to select the Asian region’s top companies engaged in a variety of industries including Automobiles and Components, Banking, Consumer Discretionary, Consumer Staples, Energy, Healthcare, Insurance, Real Estate, Semiconductors and Semiconductor Equipment, Technology Hardware and Equipment, Telecommunication Services, Transportation, and Utilities, among others.
“This is a recognition of our concerted efforts as a group towards creating shared value for our stakeholders, and we wish to continue on this trajectory with shared successes and positive synergy,” said RRHI President and CEO Robina Gokongwei-Pe following the announcement of the survey results in September.
Universal Robina Corporation, an affiliate company of RRHI in the Gokongwei Group, was also recognized in the poll, being named the country’s most outstanding company in the Consumer Staples sector for the second year running.
