Cloud 9 and Munchy’s, two of Universal Robina Corporation’s well-known brands in Malaysia, were recently recognized at the 2025 Putra awards, reflecting their strong connection with consumers in one of Southeast Asia’s most competitive snack markets.
Cloud 9 received a Silver award in the Foodstuff category at the Putra Aria Brand Awards 2025, while Munchy’s earned a Bronze award in the same category at the Putra Brand Awards 2025. The awards were presented at back-to-back ceremonies held on January 22 and 23, 2026, in Kuala Lumpur.
Organized by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As) together with industry partners, the Putra Brand Awards and Putra Aria Brand Awards are established consumer-voted recognition platforms in the Malaysian market. Winners were determined through a nationwide consumer study conducted by Ipsos Malaysia, drawing insights from more than 50,000 responses across multiple categories.
“These awards reflect the trust Malaysian consumers place in our brands and the dedication of our teams who bring them to life every day,” said Karen Ong, URC’s Chief Marketing Officer.

The honors come as URC continues to invest in its Malaysia operations as part of its broader growth plans in Southeast Asia.
In March 2025, the company opened a new research and development center in Pasir Gudang, Johor, to support product development and packaging innovation for the regional market.
The facility is equipped with product testing and development technologies and is designed to support closer collaboration across teams, helping speed up the development process.
Munchy’s, established in 1991 and acquired by URC in 2021, is Malaysia’s No. 1 biscuit brand and a leader in several key segments, with distribution in more than 20,000 outlets nationwide.
Cloud 9, part of URC’s regional snacks portfolio, continues to expand its presence and consumer reach across Southeast Asia.
The Putra Brand wins add to URC’s growing list of recognitions in the region, including honors related to trust, workplace excellence, and brand performance in Indonesia and other Southeast Asian markets.
