As part of its 25th anniversary celebration, Robinsons Bank is giving back and helping create a better tomorrow. For every qualified transaction made on its RBank Digital banking app, Robinsons Bank is donating fifty centavos to help fund the education of Gokongwei Brothers Foundation scholars.
RBank clients seeking interesting or innovative methods to help their communities will be pleased to learn that they can contribute to nation building simply by using the RBank Digital app. A donation to GBF is made with every Bills Payment, PesoNet fund transfer, QR Pay fund transfer, and Remit transfer successfully completed through the RBank Digital app. Transactions of the same type but made through regular branch visits are not included in this initiative.
Launched on November 1, 2021, and running until October 31, 2022, the campaign aims to raise more than PHP 400,000 for GBF scholars.
According to GBF, the collected funds will be earmarked for its college scholarship programs, which will be available to eligible students in the upcoming 2022-2023 academic year.
The Gokongwei Brothers Foundation was established in 1992 with the goal of having a lasting impact on education in the Philippines. The foundation’s core programs are focused on the advancement of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education, as GBF believes that this is a key driver for sustainable national development.
Apart from offering this unique philanthropic program, RBank, which has been recognized as one of the fastest-growing commercial banks in the country three years in a row, is also taking steps to make banking more convenient for its clients.
Using a new feature on the RBank Digital app, clients can now use their registered mobile number to receive funds or payments instead of having to disclose their bank account number. On top of this, they may also choose to receive funds through an email address registered with RBank.
This feature, exclusive to RBank Digital app users, can be accessed by logging on to the app, tapping on the “More” button, and enabling the “Send/Receive via Mobile or Email” option found under the “Other Services” menu.
