Robinsons Hotels and Resorts, the hospitality arm of Robinsons Land Corporation, recently unveiled the first property under its latest upscale brand, Grand Summit Hotels. Located in General Santos City, South Cotabato, the new hotel formally opened to the public on October 15, 2021.

Grand Summit Hotel General Santos is billed as the smart choice for travelers looking for a fine and complete hotel experience rather than just a place to stay. With its distinctive Filipino warmth and flair coupled with intuitive and personalized service, the hotel aims to build meaningful connections with its guests and puts premium hospitality within reach. Boasting world-class facilities and excellent amenities, all 102 rooms and suites of the hotel are carefully designed to meet the evolving needs of its guests.

As the hotel was built in the city that is fondly called “The Tuna Capital of the Philippines,” it is no surprise that the popular fish features prominently on the menu of Café Summit, the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant. Here, the delicacy is prepared in a variety of ways, catering to the personal preferences of hotel guests. To further satisfy the palates of visitors from all over, a range of local and international cuisines are also available.

With its multiple function rooms and ballroom – all equipped with excellent audio-visual and technical facilities – the Grand Summit Hotel is ideal for business meetings, exhibits, training programs, and social gatherings. The function rooms can accommodate up to 30 guests, while the pillarless and elegantly designed Grand Summit Ballroom can comfortably seat up to 500 guests (banquet setup) or 700 guests (theatre or auditorium-style setup).

The hotel also earns high marks for its leisure facilities, which include a spa, gym, and a swimming pool. The pool and suite facilities will be available for guests’ use by December 2021, while the Grand Summit Ballroom, spa, and fitness center are slated to open by the second quarter of 2022.

Robinsons Hotels and Resorts understands the concerns of its guests when traveling in the new normal. All of the group’s properties implement safety protocols at every touch point, from pre-arrival to post-departure, to ensure a worry-free and safe experience for all guests.

Like its sister properties, Grand Summit Hotel General Santos follows the Circle of Clean protocol, which is modeled after the World Health Organization’s hygiene and cleanliness standards as well as the Department of Health’s New Normal protocols. Apart from the common precautions observed in almost every establishment today, the COC protocol has additional safety measures including a seamless online check-in, luggage disinfection upon check-in and check-out, and COC ambassadors stationed in common areas ready to assist or instruct guests. The hotel’s COC measures also ensure hygienic and safe food handling.

In line with the trend of adopting contactless procedures for health and safety reasons, the hotel has a self check-in kiosk at the front desk.

The hotel’s soft opening took place on October 13, two days before its official public launch. The event was attended by Frederick D. Go, Robinsons Land Corporation president and CEO; Arthur Gindap, Robinsons Hotels and Resorts senior vice president and business unit general manager; Annalyn Yap, group general manager; Joy de Mesa, group director of Sales and Marketing; Representative Shirlyn Bañas-Nograles of South Cotabato’s 1st District; Mayor Ronnel Rivera of General Santos City, and Jane Rivera.
